Hello, crafty Friends! Welcome to the Squirrels Gone Nutz: a whole year-long hop! I’m so excited to be joining the Squirrel Sisters (Anna, Karen, Marie and V. who formed the Squirrel Squad at the Collected Crafty Collabs hops if you remember) and two other lovely Squirrels: Lounon and Tasha 🙂 . In this fun collab we’ll be using again supplies from our stash (let’s be honest, we all hoard craft supplies… or forget to use… ). The theme for January is “New (Year, Baby and so on) with Leftovers (optional)” and you should have came here from the sweet and creative Lounon.

I went through my stash of backgrounds and scraps and I found few colored leftovers from the Simon Says Stamp – “Pretty Peonies” background stamp. I’m sorry, I didn’t even think of taking a picture… but I have a quick video and all is shown in there. Only one looked good enough to me, made with Nuvo shimmer powders, the other two pieces needed some more color to the background or to the florals. The next treasure that I found was a card front sized white (with gold shimmer) pearlecent cardstock that I thought will match the brass heat embossing on the peonies from that scrap piece. It took me some time to figure out the card design but I decided to use a die from Tonic Craft kit 18 and sentiments from Tonic Studios – “Summer Flowers” stamp set: “Wishing you another year full of happiness and love” and “Happy Birthday” for the inside. Golden metallic cardstock strips helped me cover up my not so straight die cutting 😀 I glued all the pieces together and that’s it.
