Squirrels Gone Nutz: February

Hello and welcome! This is our second instalment of the Squirrels Gone Nuts year-long hop. Theme for February is Friendship with a Shaker and you should have arrived here from the amazing V.

I always connect Friendship with Flowers so a floral stamp was a must. I picked Waffle Flower’s Bouquet Builder 3 (barely used). I remember receiving it two years ago on my birthday and there was a sweet note from the shop owner; that really made my day. I even found already stamped images in my scrap box. Not so perfectly stamped on few places but that wasn’t bothering me. So at this point I had to decide how to make the shaker. Originally, I wanted to use a shaker window (never used before) but it simply wouldn’t work. So I looked through my Tonic Craft kits (rarely used) and in kit 13 there was the perfect die to create the window. Picture of the used supplies below. The sequin mix was in the same order as the stamp set 🙂

What I used.
All the pieces.
Creating the window.
Creating the shaker.

I die cut two panels with the stitched rectangle die (size A6). On the first one I marked on all four sides 1.5 cm from the stitching and made guide lines with a pencil. I also marked the centre of the panel and also the die I was going to use. Then I lined it up as shown on the picture and ran it through my die cutting machine. After that, I aligned the die with the top pencil line and again cut it out. Now my shaker window was ready.

I used my Copic markers to color the florals and I tried to use colors as close as possible to the colors of my sequin mix.

On my second panel I ink blended Distress inks in Scattered Straw, Worn Lipstick and Seedless Preserves. It was time to assemble the shaker.

I managed to hide those not so perfect places with aditional images and the sentiments from SSS – Tiny Words stamp set. Added Wink of Stella in clear on all of the flowers and that was it.

Now, head over to see sweet Karen’s post.

Have a great day!

Challenged by Family: ep. 1

Hello and happy New Year! I am so excited to start 2021 with a challenge.. or two 🙂

After the holidays I didn’t know what to make so I asked my family to help me out by choosing a stamp set. They not only did that but also gave me a note with details on what my card should be. This was so much fun so we decided to turn it into series 🙂

I am also joining the lovely and talented V. in her Just Stash January.

In Episode 1 I share how I made Glowing Galaxy Infinity Shaker card following the instructions my husband and daughter gave. Here I’m showing just the finished card but you can see the whole process in my video (also how it glows in the dark).

Here is the card.

Christmas Craft Creations – Music 2

Hi and welcome back to our challenge at Christmas Craft Creations blog. October’s theme is Christmas Music and I have another example to share 🙂

These two little critters are travelling for the holidays and singing (or listening to the radio). If you haven’t guessed it yet, it’s the Jingle Bells song 🙂

To make the ride more fun, I have the car popped on an action wobble.

For the background I used Distress inks: Chipped Sapphire, Seedless Preserves and Scattered Straw for the sky and Tumbled Glass and Broken China for the road/snow.

Here is a link to my video with all the details on how I assembled this card:

I used images from these Lawn Fawn stamp sets and cut them out with the corresponding dies:

***All of the products I use are purchased by me. Links above are affliliate links. Using affiliate links does not mean additional cost for you. I trully appreciate your support.

I hope you will check the awesome projects from the rest of the team 🙂 Challenge closes November 10th and I hope you will join us (there is a prize to be won).

Have a great day!

Shadow Box Card

Hi! Today I’m sharing this shadow box card. I have always wanted to make one 🙂 After many tries, I finally got it so that the size is A6 (European) when flat, which means that it perfectly fits in a standard envelope. UPDATE: Video tutorial added at the end of the post.

I used “Seasonal Scenes” and “Naughty Or Mice?” stamp sets by Clearly Besotted to create the little scene inside my shadow box. I colored the images with Copic markers and also used stencil and distress inks to create wallpapers and carpet inside the home. For the outside I used distress inks and a brick stamp from one of my Tonic Craft kits, so that the shadow box looks like a house.

The sentiment is from “Cosy Christmas” stamp set (again by Clearly Besotted) and the die cuts were just some leftovers from last year’s Christmas projects (from Tonic Craft kits).

With this project I’m entering the PB Challenge #32 – October.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Let’s Spin

Hi! I hope you are having a great day! Today I’m showing a fun spinning ring card. I used the cute Lawn Fawn’s Sweet Friends images to adhere onto the ring so they can happily spin around 🙂

I hope my card makes you smile! Take care!
