CCC – December Blog Hop

Hello! It’s time for our last Collected Crafty Collabs hop. Theme for the month is Snowman/Snowpeople and the bonus theme is Sparkle.

You should have came from the fabulous Anna’s blog and I’ll tell you a little bit later about your next stop.

It has been so much fun finding all those ‘forgotten’ supplies and making something with them πŸ™‚ I decided to use a stamp set that I haven’t used for a whole year! Avery Elle’s Snow Fun. I love this snowman so much that I had to use him. Just look at his face πŸ™‚ I stamped him on watercolor paper and first I created the background. Kinda just playing with the watercolors and watching the water doing the magic. Once I was happy with the wintery scene, I colored the snowman. And once all was dry, I added white texture paste through falling snow stencil.

For the bonus sparkle theme I applied Nuvo Glacier paste in Frostbite around the edges of a white cardstock piece (same size as my card base). Once that was dry, I adhered the watercolored panel and then all onto my cardbase. I also added 3 glitter snowflakes and clear Wink of Stella to the white part of the snowman’s hat. Lastly, I added Nuvo Crystal Glaze on the nose and the gift’s bow.

I managed to film my process:

So this is all from me. I hope your holidays are merry and bright and the next year better, healthier and happier!

And now please head over to see what lovely Val has created πŸ™‚ After her is the sweet Marie!

Hugs,

CCC November Blog Hop

Hi! It’s again that time of the month for our Collected Crafty Collabs hop and you probably came here from the amazing Karen.

The theme for November is Christmas and/or Texture Pastes or Mousse.

Christmas cards are my favorites to make and I was so excited for this month because I have a stamp set (or two) from last year that I didn’t have the chance to use back then. Well, I didn’t end up using any of these. With all what is going on around and Christmas being right around the corner I just don’t feel like coloring or making any complicated projects. So I went through my stash of backgrounds (a small box with all kinds of card sized pieces of ‘art’ that I have no idea what to do with) and picked 3. All were made with Gloss Sprays and I decided to combine them with stencils that I haven’t used since last year and texture paste. I was recording and was going to post a video of making my projects but as always… life happens, so no video.

Pictures below are screen shots, not the best quality, but I wanted to show what was my starting point.

Gloss Spray Marine.
Gloss Spray Medieval.
Gloss Spray Gilt and stencil.

Card 1

  • Stencil: Falling Snowflakes by Tonic Studios
  • Texture Paste by Ranger
  • Dazzling Blue Nuvo Glitter drops in the centre of each snowflake
  • Craft Perfect pearlescent card in Pearl White as a mat.
The sentiment is in Finnish and means “Merry Christmas”.
Closer look.

Card 2

  • Stencil: Falling Snowflakes by Tonic Studios
  • Texture Paste by Ranger
  • Purple watercolor spray
  • Sugar Plum Nuvo Glitter drops in the centre of each snowflake
  • Craft Perfect glitter card in Sugar Crystal for the frame and die cut snowflakes.
Again the “Merry Christmas” sentiment on vellum.
Closer look.

Card 3

  • Stencil: Holiday Foliage by Simon Says Stamp
  • Texture Paste by Ranger
  • Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and water brush to color over the dried texture paste
  • Red pearl cardstock. I believe it’s from Crafter`s Companion.
Again the same “Merry Christmas” sentiment.
Closer look.

These are all of my cards. I hope you will hop along and see what my crafty friends have created πŸ™‚

Your Next stop is the sweet Virginia.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

CCC October Blog Hop

Hi! It’s time for our Collected Crafty Collabs hop for the month of October and it’s also time to dig through my stash and find something I haven’t used for a while πŸ™‚

Theme for this month is Thankful and/or Foil/Shiny element.

For my card I chose to use a stamp set from Wplus9 called “Beautiful Bouquets: Dahlias” that I used probably just once … two years ago (or a bit more?). I stamped and heat embossed the image in Brass embossing powder by WOW! on Bristol smooth paper and I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to color. This time I went with a blender pen, just because I rarely use it. The sentiment is from an older Tonic Craft kit and I heat embossed it using the same Brass embossing powder.

For the shiny element on my card I used gold paper from my stash (I bought tons of it long ago but because it’s so thin, I don’t really use it) and also shiny sequins by Tonic Studios.

Here is a quick video tutorial:

You should have came from sweet Karen’s blog and your NEXT stop on the hop is lovely Virginia’s blog.

CCC July Blog Hop

Hi! It’s again time for the Collected Crafty Collabs (CCC) hop πŸ™‚ The theme for July is Outdoors and/or Patterned Paper. I really love the idea of digging through my (not so big) stash and finding those supplies that are left unloved for quite some time.

The stamp set that I chose to use is Party Pals from Avery Elle and it’s one of my first ones. I haven’t used it for over an year! Patterened paper is something that I struggle with in card making. I have mainly 12×12 and 8×8 paper packs which are great for my mini albums but not really for cards… I don’t know how to incorporate them plus I love to color. So, I went on Pinterest and looked through the hundreds of card sketches but none of them seemed to be “The One” that I would want to use. Since this didn’t help I started looking through my stash and realized that I have papers from a cardmaking magazine that I never used. So I picked two patterns that were kinda going well together. I stamped the panda and the kitty holding the banner and masked them so I can do a simple ink blending for my outdoor scene. I didn’t get a good blend tho so I blame the cardstock πŸ˜€ It is Transotype – Perfect Coloring Paper, first time using it for ink blending and have used it just few times for coloring (not really liking it). I used Copic markers to color the stamped images. For the assembly of the card I didn’t do anything fancy, just glued all down flat. As finishing touches I added Nuvo Crystal Glaze on the noses and over the letters of the banner and some iridescent star confetti here and there.

CCC June Blog Hop

Hi friends! I am a member of the Collected Crafty Collabs (CCC) group which is a small group of bloggers who come together for monthly challenges. This month’s theme is Critters and/or Stencils.

For my card I chose to use two mini stamp sets from Lawn Fawn: “So Jelly” and “Seahorsin’ Around” and a Dutch Doobadoo’s stencil “Triangle Wave”. I used a wreath builder template and stamped four times the octopus and one of the seahorses to create a circle. Then, I stamped the star in the center but a bit off side so that I can add a sentiment later. I masked them all (didn’t bother masking the legs of the octopuses) and ink blended Distress ink in Tumbled Glass all over the card panel. After that I applied Salty Ocean Distress ink through the stencil.

For the coloring I picked alcohol markers in bright and happy colors: pinks and purples for the octopuses, blues and greens for the seahorses and yellows for the star. I added details with Stardust and White Gelly Roll pens, a little bit of sparke with Clear Wink of Stella (I can’t have a card without sparkle πŸ˜€ ) and Nuvo Glitter Drops in White Blizzard. And I almost forgot to add the sentiment. Stamped “You’re a star” in black and heat embossed in clear. I trimmed a bit the card front on each side so it is a bit smaller than my card base (4×4) and before adhering all together, I also ink blended Cracked Pistachio Distress ink just around the edges.

So hard to capture the glittery details…

Thank you so much for stopping by! I am so excited to see what my crafty friends create. You should have come from Charlotte and your NEXT STOP on the hop is Lounon .

Have a great day!
