And here is my Christmas slimline card:

I used Cracked Pistachio Distress ink and Copic + Nuvo markers.

Thanks for stopping by!

Squirrelz Stash Bash: March

Hi and welcome! I’m back with the Squirrelz Stash Bash hop and for March we have Spring + Edge stamping / die cutting.

Previous stop is the lovely Karen.

I’m sorry for my rushed post with just a brief explanation but I’m doing all in the last minute… For my card I went with Easter as Spring since I didn’t find any fitting stamps or dies in my stash, except snowdrops that I used last year for the same hop. Used Lawn Fawn sets that I have barely used. I Googled “edge stamping and die cutting” and I found few videos from Jennifer McGuire. I followed one of examples she showed: stamping all of the images on the card base and one more time on the card front, then partially die cutting both and adhering together when all colored. And cutting the bottom part off for the die cut edge look. I was pretty scared of the die cutting, mainly of the dies shifting because my cutting plates are really warped. I used Distress inks and stencils for the background and added few more fussy cut images. I did not die cut both pieces exactly the same so I had a bit of white showing from my card base. I used a marker to color around and a bit hide the imperfections.

Inside the card I added a grassy hill and left space for my sentiment:

So, that’s all from me. Next stop is sweet Marie but I hope you’ll go through all of the stop to see the amazing creations!

Christmas Craft Creations – Blue&Silver

Hi and welcome! Today I’m sharing a card for the Christmas Craft Creations challenge for the month of February 2022. The theme is “Blue & Silver” and you can see the details on how to play along here.

For my card, I used a background that I created using leftover shaving cream mixed with inks from marbling technique I was trying out for a card hop (there’s a video of that technique on my YouTube channel going live on February 25th). I also used silver stencil paste through the same stencil as the background. I stamped and colored the mermaid with Copic markers and added silver accents.

Here is a closer look of the card:

Squirrelz Stash Bash: February

Hello and welcome! We, the Squirrels, are back with our hop for the month of February 🙂 If you’re coming from the lovely sweet V’s blog, then you’re on the right place.

We are a group of crafty friends that come together every month to face the challenge of using old-ish/forgotten/barely used/not loved enough supplies. This month we have Botanical + Color Palette!

I started a bit backwards as I first picked my colords and then started looking for images to color.

I went through my Copic markers and these are the combinations that I managed to select quite close enough to the provided color palette (by the way, it is based on Anna’s actual plant). From left to right:

  • RV04, RV09
  • V06 (not a too close match but that’s what I have)
  • RV10, RV02, RV13
  • YG21, YG03
  • YG93, YG63

Once I had the markers picked, I figured out that the Cosmos Bloom Background stamp by Simon Says Stamp would let me use them all. So I stamped the image and colored it in fully, even added W-1 between the florals so that they stand out just a bit better.

I went for a really simple card design. I found a matching green cardstock for a mat and then used a frame die to cut out the image out. I added another layer of cardstock to pop up the frame.

The hardest part was choosing the sentiment… I wanted it to be encouraging, something more meaningful and all I could find was this plain “Hello”. I paired it with “dear friend” stamp, stamped in black and heat embossed in clear.

I used a little bit of Clear Wink of Stella and just few Nuvo glitter drops accents for the flower centers and finished off the card adding clear sequins. In these hard times I though that just a simple hello card can make someone’s day brighter 🙂

Next stop is the awesomely talented Lounon so go check her blog out! I hope you’ll check the rest of the stops too as my crafty friends always have amazing projects to share <3

Have a lovely day!

Christmas Craft Creations – Stencilling

Hi and welcome! I’m back with a project for the Christmas Craft Creations challenge for the month of January 2022. The theme is “Stencilling” and you can find all the details here.

I chose the Holiday Foliage stencil by Simon Says Stamp and used white pigment ink on kraft cardstock. I matted the panel with red cardstock, die cut sentiment from both and glued them a bit offset. I also added a red strip under the sentiment. The card looked quite too simple so I quickly stamped, colored and fussy cut a snowman and a bird from the Snow Fun set by Avery Elle.

Added clear Wink of Stella on the sentiment and details with Nuvo glitter drops (a bit hard to see on the pictures).

A closer look.

Have a great day and I hope you’ll play along 🙂

Squirrelz Stash Bash: January

Hello, crafty friends and welcome to our fresh and renewed hop for the year 2022! Your previous stop should have been the fabulous Anna.

After a break in December, my dear Squirrel Squad friends and I are back with the new Squirrelz Stash Bash year-long hop 🙂

Look how cute our new squirrel is 🙂

After having the hop going for a full year and barely scratching the surface, we decided to keep it going for another year. The purpose of this hop is every month to use all these squirreled away/forgotten/not enough loved supplies combined with fun themes, techniques and even sketches. So, for January we have “Love/Friendship + Sketch”.

This is the sketch that was selected (from Paper Play Sketches):

I find sketches intimidating and every time I see one, lots of layers of patterned paper come to my mind. However, I decided to replace most of the elements with stamped images. Also, when it comes to love/friendship I always go with flowers. This time I chose critter friends who came together to celebrate their friendship by baking 🙂 The stamp set it “Bake off” by Clearly Besotted and this is the first time I use it since I bought it. I stamped the bunny and two bears with Copic friendly ink on die cut rectangles and colored them in. At this point I realised that the rectangles won’t fit one under other so I had to: a) change the stamp set or b) rotate the sketch… I chose b) and I hope it’s not considered cheating 😀

To create the card panel (the background) I used the small stamps from the set together with the berries from another barely used stamp set “Celebration Cupcakes”, again by Clearly Besotted. I used a very light ink: Jellyfish (Lawn Fawn) and then lightly ink blended Scattered Straw Distress ink. To step it a little bit up, I used the brick “Build It” stencil, again by Clearly Besotted, with Antique Linen Distress ink. I stamped and colored 3 strawberries to represent the 3 small circles in the sketch. Then I found a leftover piece of patterned paper (Lawn Fawn’s Perfectly Plaid Christmas) on my table and decided to use it for the piece behind the rectangles so that the furry friends stand out. I also made masks for them and went over with Scatterd Straw Distress ink just to give them some color around. Next: assembling it all together.

I stamped “You’re a berry best friend” on the inside of the card (Lawn Fawn’s Sweet Friends stamp set) and 3 berries. And my card was finished.

I hope you’ll head over to check the amazing Karen and also the rest of the lovely Squirrel Squad for more inspiration 🙂

Have a great day!
