Squirrelz Stash Bash: March

Hi and welcome! I’m back with the Squirrelz Stash Bash hop and for March we have Spring + Edge stamping / die cutting.

Previous stop is the lovely Karen.

I’m sorry for my rushed post with just a brief explanation but I’m doing all in the last minute… For my card I went with Easter as Spring since I didn’t find any fitting stamps or dies in my stash, except snowdrops that I used last year for the same hop. Used Lawn Fawn sets that I have barely used. I Googled “edge stamping and die cutting” and I found few videos from Jennifer McGuire. I followed one of examples she showed: stamping all of the images on the card base and one more time on the card front, then partially die cutting both and adhering together when all colored. And cutting the bottom part off for the die cut edge look. I was pretty scared of the die cutting, mainly of the dies shifting because my cutting plates are really warped. I used Distress inks and stencils for the background and added few more fussy cut images. I did not die cut both pieces exactly the same so I had a bit of white showing from my card base. I used a marker to color around and a bit hide the imperfections.

Inside the card I added a grassy hill and left space for my sentiment:

So, that’s all from me. Next stop is sweet Marie but I hope you’ll go through all of the stop to see the amazing creations!

  1. I wish I could pull off something so amazing at the last minute!!! I’m double impressed as its not a quick and easy technique but it turned out perfectly!!! Any imperfections were well hidden, or the kind only the creator sees. This little scene is so super cute and I love how it continues on the inside. You work very well under pressure, my friend!!!

  2. This is amazing Bory! I too watched Jennifer’s videos for inspiration before attempting to make anything for this hop. I love, love, love this card! 🙂
