Hello and welcome! It’s again time for our Squirrels Gone Nutz hop and your previous stop should have been the sweet Marie π This month’s theme is “Celebration with Galaxy”. If you don’t know what this hop is all about and what it has to do with squirrels… well, we are a group of crafty friends, the Squirrel Squad. Every month we create projects following a theme with a randomly selected supply/technique. The most important part is that we are using older supplies, something never used or forgotten (squirreled away).

Today I am sharing a Birthday card. You can’t tell that it really is by looking at the front but there will be a “Happy Birthday” stamped inside. It is going to be for my husband and I didn’t want him to see if for some reason decides to open the card. My craft area is quite in the middle of our apartment so I am having hard times hiding my projects π Anyways, I started with two stitched rectangle panels: one dark blue and one Bristol smooth cardstock. The first one I ran through my die cutting machine using star shaped die, stamped and heat embossed in white the sentiment (Clearly Besotted set) and then ink blended around. On the other panel I created a galaxy using Distress inks. I splattered both panels with white paint and left them aside to dry. Meanwhile, I stamped, colored and fussy cut out the bunny from the same stamp set as my sentiment, called “To The Moon & Back”.
At this point the panels were dry so my card was ready to assemble. I die cut vellum clouds to fill the empty spaces and to have something the bunny to sit on. The clouds were slightly overhandig so I put liquid glue on these parts and folded them so they stick to the back of the blue panel. For more stability I also used gots of the liquid glue behind each cloud but completely forgot to tap the glue with my finger so it ended up visible. To “fix” that I used white gell pen to create starts over those areas (I should say “tried to fix”). Lastly, I used clear Wink of Stella on the clouds and on the star the bunny is fishing π

So, this is the finished card. I’ll stamp the sentiment inside in few days and will write my greetings π Next stop on this hop is the brilliant V, but please, check all the stops, you won’t regret it π
Big hugs,
Boryana
Love the design ! It’s so cute and pretty ! Your star really pops up as if it was shinning ! Your husband will love it !
Bory, this is so awesome!!! I agree with Lounon… your star really looks like it is glowing and shining! What a great idea to have the galaxy part seen through a die cut shape, and it ties in so well with the stamped image! I love it!!!
I meant to also say that I love this for a birthday card… you’ll have to tell him to make a wish on a star for his birthday!
Bory, your card is so pretty…or shouldn’t I say “pretty” since it’s for your hubby? π I LOVE that big die cut star, and the fact that is where you put your galaxy…SO COOL! That little bunny is *adorable*! π
OH! That star is absolutely wonderful!! It really looks like it’s glowing! Fantastic card, Bory!
I love everything about this card! The way the star looks like itβs glowing, the awesome bunny fishing for a star, the vellum cloudsβ¦. Gorgeous work!!!!
