Christmas Craft Creations – Non-Traditional Colors

Hello and welcome! It’s August and at Christmas Craft Creations challenge we have “Non-Traditional Colors”. You can find all the details here.

For my quite quick and simple card I used few stashed backgrounds that I made with Gloss sprays on photo paper some time ago and die cut snowflakes. I lightly ink blended my card panel mainly around the edges. I randomly adhered the snowflakes onto it and added a frame on top. Added “Let it snow” and adhered all onto my card base.

Squirrels Gone Nutz: August

Hello and welcome to the Squirrels Gone Nuts hop for the month of August! The theme is Thankful with Stitching. If you are not familiar with our hop, we are a group of crafty friends (the Squirrel Squad) that come together every month to create projects using supplies we’ve squirreled away 🙂

This month’s theme was quite challenging for me since I don’t own any dies for stitching. After few unsuccessful tries I decided to go through all of my dies. At the very bottom of my storage box I found a set of 3 Prima dies “Emmanuelle Fleurs”, they look like flower doilies. I’ve had this set since I stared carmaking, it was a giveaway win that I’ve never ever used. So I picked the flower with the widest center, cut it out of white cardstock, made few holes with a pokey tool so that I can stitch stemen. I used Distress inks to give it some color. Then I made the background: used stitched rectangle die, ink blended different shades of blue and sprinkled a little bit of water for more interest. I also added a die cut leaf and for the stem of the flower I used a clothesline die from Lawn Fawn’s Little Bundle set. Lastly I used grassy hill die to create the ground.

Before putting all together, I used a thin silver thread to create the flower’s stamen. I used Nuvo glitter drops at the very center. I glued the grassy hill onto my card panel leaving a gap on top so I can slide the flower stem. Then stitched all around with the same silver thread. Adhered the stem and the leaf and popped the flower onto a foam square. Added a banner with stamped “many thanks” and heat embossed in Silver. I’m really low on card bases so I’ll add one when I’m mailing this card.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Please, hop along to see all the creations, it’s just few of us but I can assure you that there’s tons of inspiration 🙂 NEXT stop is the lovely Marie and the PREVIOUS stop is the sweet Anna.

Today I’m sharing on behalf of my daughter Elena (age 9) who wanted to participate in Simon Says Stamp Kid’s Summer Vacation Challenge.

Since she loves reading, she went for a bookmark. She is always allowed to use my crafting supplies so she chose the unicorn from Unicorn Plans stamp set by The Greeting Farm and books are from Den Sweet Den by Lawn Fawn. She did the stamping, coloring and fussy cutting all by herself. She used Heffy Doodle’s bookmark die from Mark My Words die set. The only help she got from me was for holding down the Sunny Day stencil by Clearly Besotted. She used Distress Oxide ink in Squeezed Lemonade. She also used patterned paper for the back of the bookmark and added details with Stardust Gelly Roll pen.

Thanks for stopping by!
