Squirrels Gone Nutz: June

Hi and welcome to the Squirrels Gone Nuts hop! The theme for June is Elegant and Marbled background is the randomly selected technique. If you have arrived here from the very talented Anna, it means that you are on the right track.

I have to admit that this wasn’t the card I wanted to make. I was going to create my own marbled background with watercolors, at least that was the plan… but life happened so here I am with few hours left before the hop… It feels like cheating but I had a piece of marbled pattened paper (I was going to use it as an ispiration). Decided to use it as my background instead: using supplies from my stash, which is the purpose of this hop :). I also found already watercolored florals (oldish Tonic Studios rubber stamp) so I fussy cut the image out and I also happened to have a second small flower stamped and watercolored, I decided to pop it up. To tie it all together, I used black cardstock as a mat, die cut gold frame and I also added details with a Stardust gel pen. I stamped “For You”, which is from an oldish Tonic Craft kit.

Here is a closer look of my card:

A closer look.

Next stop is the sweet Marie but please, hop along and leave some love to my lovely crafty friends. They all are so wonderful and talented so you won’t regret it 🙂

** My comments are not showing for some reason but I’m working on it.

  1. Totally NOT cheating, Bory! You used what you had, in true Squirrel fashion!!! And it turned out beautiful with the matching gold frame and details in the flowers! I have to admit I didn’t know Stardust came in gold, so now I must have a gold pen for my stash! How did I not know it existed?!? You did a splendid job of pulling it all together and making it look beautiful and not like a backup plan 😊 Well done, Bory, especially on a tough technique month!

  2. It looks beautiful Bory ! The golden frame is a great touch ! And it’s not cheating ! You’re perfectly following the theme and the purpose of this hop 😉

  3. No, not cheating at all! Your card is so lovely and elegant, and you used way more from your squirreled away stash than I did from mine! I’m glad you were still able to hop with us this month, my friend! 😊

  4. This is gorgeous! And I am totally inspired by the way you used what you already had created or in your stash! Very true to the challenge! Love it!
