CCC June Blog Hop

Hi friends! I am a member of the Collected Crafty Collabs (CCC) group which is a small group of bloggers who come together for monthly challenges. This month’s theme is Critters and/or Stencils.

For my card I chose to use two mini stamp sets from Lawn Fawn: “So Jelly” and “Seahorsin’ Around” and a Dutch Doobadoo’s stencil “Triangle Wave”. I used a wreath builder template and stamped four times the octopus and one of the seahorses to create a circle. Then, I stamped the star in the center but a bit off side so that I can add a sentiment later. I masked them all (didn’t bother masking the legs of the octopuses) and ink blended Distress ink in Tumbled Glass all over the card panel. After that I applied Salty Ocean Distress ink through the stencil.

For the coloring I picked alcohol markers in bright and happy colors: pinks and purples for the octopuses, blues and greens for the seahorses and yellows for the star. I added details with Stardust and White Gelly Roll pens, a little bit of sparke with Clear Wink of Stella (I can’t have a card without sparkle πŸ˜€ ) and Nuvo Glitter Drops in White Blizzard. And I almost forgot to add the sentiment. Stamped “You’re a star” in black and heat embossed in clear. I trimmed a bit the card front on each side so it is a bit smaller than my card base (4×4) and before adhering all together, I also ink blended Cracked Pistachio Distress ink just around the edges.

So hard to capture the glittery details…

Thank you so much for stopping by! I am so excited to see what my crafty friends create. You should have come from Charlotte and your NEXT STOP on the hop is Lounon .

Have a great day!

  1. Wow, Bory! This is like a 1 layer wonder!!! I love it 🧑🧑🧑! I’m happy to see I’m not the only one who goes all out with a masking project, too! Super cute design and coloring! And I feel your pain about getting glittery, shimmery things to show in pictures… ugh! Its adorable in photos and I can tell its even better IRL with all that shimmer! Thanks so much for joining the hop group. So glad to have you along!

  2. I love your critters and how you combined the 2 smaller stamp sets together. I love the square design of your card. Did you use a wreath builder stencil for the circle it turned out amazing.! I can’t wait to see what you make next month.
